I am writing on behalf of the Center’s Director, Christian Smith. We at the Center recently received a planning grant from the John Templeton Foundation to conduct background research on the topic of generosity, toward the launch of a possible major RFP project next year to fund many studies on generosity. “Generosity” here includes, but is not limited to, charitable financial giving, volunteering of time and talents, and personal relational investments into others for the common good. We are interested in understanding the genesis, manifestations, and effects of generosity on both recipients and givers. We think you might be interested in our project, and we intend to get into contact with you again in the future, as our project develops and a possible RFP is announced.Meanwhile, one of the background tasks we are working on now is compiling a comprehensive contact list of researchers and organizations that are interested in different aspects of generosity. We are asking people who we know about, like yourself, to help us identify people and organizations that we do not already know about. We would greatly appreciate your help in providing to us any contact information of other researchers or organizations that you may know that are interested in generosity, as well as extant survey instruments or established survey measures relevant to this subject. See below for examples of survey measures, organizations, and researchers that are already in our database. If you know of any additional people, centers, organizations, or surveys that you think might be relevant to our project, please let me know about them. We appreciate your help very much.Warm regards,Peter MundeyUniversity of Notre DameGenerosity Project [email protected] 240-446-1914 Call for interest in research project on generosity and giving AddThis Sharing ButtonsShare to TwitterTwitterShare to FacebookFacebookShare to LinkedInLinkedInShare to EmailEmailShare to WhatsAppWhatsAppShare to MessengerMessengerShare to MoreAddThis From: Peter Mundey [mailto:[email protected]]Sent: Tue 07/08/2007 16:13To: Harris MESubject: Research Project on Generosity and GivingAlready got long list of survey measures, organisations and individual researchers.Dear Dr. Harris: Advertisement Tagged with: Giving/Philanthropy Research / statistics About Howard Lake Howard Lake is a digital fundraising entrepreneur.
