The Zagame Family has been in business for over 52 years and is a respected name in Victoria’s hospitality industry.The 97 rooms are equipped with contemporary comforts and custom furnishings to deliver guests a new level of luxury. Bedrooms come complete with king-sized beds, European pillows and locally produced linen, while integrated technology outlets and acoustically panelled walls make for optimum privacy and ambience. Fueng Shui Master, Edgar Lok Tin Yung provided consultation on the project to ensure the correct flow of Qi throughout the hotel, harmonising great sleep and cleansing the energy for ultimate relaxation and mindfulness. Generous bathrooms feature modern matte black hardware, alongside custom lit circular mirrors that feature multiple illumination settings.In line with the hotel’s modern credentials, the design and layout of Zagame’s House has been considered with a sustainable footprint in mind. The hotel is focused with use of E water, composting systems, and an unwavering focus on supporting the best of local and rural suppliers to reduce its carbon footprint.The hotel will also be home to a private event space, a neighbourhood wine shop and bar and a coffee house and kitchen. The state-of-the-art events space features stunning, custom TSAR designed carpet, bespoke chef designed menus, and cutting edge conferencing technology adaptable for a variety of occasions, from weddings to corporate events.The wine shop and bar, Lord Lygon, will be headed up by award-winning executive chef, Chris Bonello (AHA Chef of the Year and MPD Restaurant of the year), delivering a tapas and drinks menu that champions locally based farmers, distillers and producers. Street side, Lobby 1851 coffee house and kitchen completes the Zagame House food offering, with a refined ala carte breakfast menu to be enjoyed on its large communal tables. The 24 hour room service menu even heroes a late night toastie menu.The Fantauzzo BrisbaneShaun Fields has been named general manager for the brand new $100m luxury hotel (named after contemporary Australian artist Vincent Fantauzzo).Passionate about the Art Series brand, Field’s top priority is to deliver a five-star experience but in a relaxed way to create a welcoming space where everyone feels like they belong.Growing up in Durban, Fields started his career in a hotel kitchen but was quickly tapped by the general manager to join its highly competitive intern program. After seven years he left South Africa and travelled the world applying his skills on the QE2 and Seabourn cruise lines, visiting places like the Amazon, Machu Pichu, Punta del Este, Barbados and New York, to name a few.Following a brief stint at the Beverly Hills Hotel, where he worked as the restaurant manager, Fields spent five years with Starwood Hotels in London before coming to Australia in 2010, starting at the Sheraton Perth (now the Pan Pacific Perth).
